Expanding The Docking Business

MHE-Demag’s docking equipment is gaining increased popularity and reputation in the fast growing Indonesian market. In the third quarter of 2011, the dedicated team of MHE-Demag Indonesia (MDI) commissioned 17 dock levellers, five shutter doors and five shelter doors to PT Argha Karya Prima Industry Tbk and Schenker Petrolog Utama respectively.

Loading docks are the first and last contact at any facility. It's the place where supplies first arrive and the place from where shipments leave. Selecting and properly installing the best leveller for the job plays a major role in safety and productivity.

As one of the leading flexible packaging manufacturers in South East Asia, Argha Karya operates a production facility with a capacity of 100,000 tonnes per annum. MDI provided a complete docking solution package to enhance their flow of goods at their warehouse and distribution centre in Citeureup-Bogor. The solution consisted of seven dock levellers, five shutter doors, five shelter doors and a MHE-Blue Giant dock leveller type A6810 that can take on loads up to 13.6 tonnes.

Another ten levellers were handed over to PT Hacaca Setio Abadi for their warehouse at Marunda Center, North Jakarta. The renowned tenant of the warehouse is none other than Schenker Petrolog Utama, the Indonesian entity of global logistics giant DB Schenker.

To grant optimum space-efficiency and high manoeuvrability of goods and container trucks within the loading area, MDI provided the client with five dock levellers of type A 7810 and another five units of type A 688. The levellers create safe and efficient bridges between facilities and the trucks and trailers that pull up to them allowing easy material handling.
