(SINGAPORE, 17 JULY, 2013) Jabra today announced, as the first in the industry, that all its leading headsets and speakerphones now offers integrated call-control with Cisco Jabber.
With the launch of Cisco Jabber 9.2 in both traditional and virtual desktop environments, the race was on for headset manufacturers worldwide to deliver compatible headset call-control functionalities. This unique feature has the potential to enhance the user experience for the more than 200,000 large corporations having implemented Cisco’s Unified Communications solution.
Jabra call-control with Cisco Jabber is the latest step in the continued integration of Jabra audio devices and Cisco solutions which help businesses make an even easier choice on communication infrastructure and increase the productivity of their end-users.
“Building on Cisco’s software and Jabra’s headsets, business will have a broader portfolio of validated solutions designed to meet their individual needs and budget requirements,” said Chris Briglin, Vice President of Strategic Alliances at Jabra. “Jabra is dedicated to enhancing the user experience by developing audio devices that allow customers to appreciate the full collaborative value of Unified Communication; regardless of where they work or how they connect to the network.”
Basic but essential functionalities
Allowing Cisco Jabber users to answer/end, mute/unmute and change volume directly from the Jabra headset, call-control integration is providing users with basic but essential functionalities through their audio device. The Cisco IVT (Interoperability Verification Testing) has successfully validated all leading Jabra headsets, and the interoperability even extends to Cisco Jabber for virtual environments through the Cisco Virtualization Experience Media Engine (VMXE)
These latest compatibility updates are the result of Jabra’s participation in the Cisco Developer Network Program, which unites Cisco with third-party developers of hardware and software to deliver tested interoperable solutions to joint customers. As a Preferred Solution Developer, Jabra is continuously working with Cisco to deliver new solutions that offer end-users with all the benefits of Unified Communication.
