Press release -

Exxon Mobile Singapore: ExxonMobil's Singapore Manufacturing Site Turnaround starts today

ExxonMobil’s Singapore Manufacturing Site has commenced the shutdown of several operating units for planned maintenance from today.

The overall duration of this routine regularly-scheduled maintenance activity is expected to be about six weeks.

Shutting the units down provides an opportunity for detailed inspection of equipment normally in continuous operation, routine maintenance and installation of facility improvement projects.  Unit shutdowns such as these are infrequent, but necessary, to ensure continued safe and reliable operations.

We have communicated the shutdown to our regular customers and expect to be able to continue to meet their product needs during this brief period.

ExxonMobil would like to assure our neighbours that we are committed to actions that protect the safety, health and the environment for our workers, their families and the people of Singapore.

About ExxonMobil’s Singapore Manufacturing Site:

ExxonMobil’s Singapore Manufacturing Site consists of both the Singapore Refinery and the Singapore Chemical Plant.

ExxonMobil’s Singapore Refinery has two operating sites in Singapore - one on the mainland (referred to as Jurong) and another on Jurong Island (referred to as Pulau Ayer Chawan or PAC).  The refinery processes 605,000 barrels of crude into fuels and feedstock for our own chemical plants and industrial customers each day.  It also manufactures industrial and automotive lubricants.

The capacities are:

- Jurong Island site (PAC): 296,000 barrels per day of crude oil.

- Jurong site: 309,000 barrels per day of crude oil.

The two sites are interconnected by pipelines to enable safe, secure, seamless operations and effective molecule management.  The integrated refinery manufactures a wide range of fuels, lubricants and specialty products that are marketed both within Singapore and exported to countries in Asia Pacific.  The Singapore Refinery also provides advantaged feedstock to the steam cracker and two aromatics plants.

ExxonMobil’s Singapore Chemical Plant (SCP) is ExxonMobil Chemical’s largest investment in the Asia Pacific region (at US$2 billion).  This world-scale facility employs state-of-the-art chemical processing technologies for high-performance manufacturing in today’s competitive global chemical market.  Comprising five integrated units, this highly-synergised plant serves as a strategic supply pillar for ExxonMobil’s business operations the region.
