​Danish Agro to establish new machinery company in Finland

As of 1 August 2019, newly established Finnish Agro Machinery Oy will be representing quality machinery brands – such as CLAAS, HORSCH, RAUCH and SAMSON – on the Finnish market. The new company is owned by Danish Agro group, who recently had their acquisition of existing CLAAS activities in Finland approved by the European Commission.

The transactions in Finland involves takeover of the Management and organization of KONEKESKO Oy.

Group CEO of Danish Agro, Henning Haahr, is very pleased with the approval:

– We have now finally achieved the approval from the authorities and we will strive to secure a good business transfer together with KESKO corporation and the main suppliers. In particular, I am happy that we can build on an existing and very experienced management team as well as sales and service organization. With the enhanced focus we believe this new company have a good chance to develop positively, he says.

CEO of Danish Agro Machinery Business Jens Skifter adds:

– The future setup will ensure a continuity regarding the experienced management and employees who have been involved in the business for many years. Now the focus is on developing the market position even further under the umbrella of Danish Agro. We have clear ambitions to grow our sales overall in Finland and expect to see positive results in the coming years, he says.

Danish Agro will represent both CLAAS and John Deere in Finland
Hankkija, another Danish Agro group subsidiary, will continue to represent John Deere in Finland as has been the case since 1992 – and continuing with the existing product portfolio - ensuring the leading position of Hankkija also with regards to implement sales to Finnish farmers in the future.

– The structure of Finnish farming is changing towards fewer but bigger farms, needing the best possible advice when investing in new machinery. I am confident we can make a positive impact for the Finnish farmers with this new setup, where we offer a range of world class brands and quality machinery to the farmers, says Jens Skifter.

During the past 3 years Danish Agro have successfully grown and expanded the Machinery business in Northern Europe to be amongst top three machinery providers in Europe, with activities in 9 countries.
