Polish-Swedish Bioenergy Conference 30-31 May 2007, Warsaw Please be informed that a Polish-Swedish Bio-Energy Conference under the patronage of Prime Ministers Jaroslaw Kaczynski and Fredrik Reinfeldt, with participation of Minister of Enterprise and Energy Maud Olofsson, Minister of Economy Piotr Grzegorz Wozniak, and Minister of Regional Development Grazyna Gesicka will take place in Warsaw, May 30-31, 2007. The conference is planned in collaboration between the Institute for Fuels and Renewable Energy IPiEO (Poland), and the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics IIIEE (Sweden), in close contact with relevant authorities, energy agencies and private industry networks. The purpose of the conference is to build a platform for dissemination and leverage of existing knowledge and to establish a framework for bilateral contacts, in order to expand the use of bioenergy in both countries, to mediate environmental degradation and climate change, to enhance the security of energy supply, and to maintain energy affordability. Representatives of relevant authorities, academia and private industries are invited to share views and experiences on policy options, research findings, new technologies and the latest practical experiences in the area of renewable biomass alternatives to conventional energy.
