Stockholm International Film Festival is Back With the Biggest Outdoor Cinema in Europe!

With its bright summer nights and cool autumns, the chance to watch a film outside in the summer is quite difficult in Sweden. 

When Stockholm Film Festival found a short window, a few nights in August 1991, when darkness began to fall and the temperature was still warm to be outside, we took the chance and created the first outdoor cinema in a large format in Scandinavia - Sommarbio.

Since then, Sommarbio has become one of Sweden's most popular summer events, a real phenomenon. The first year a record crowd of about 30 000 visitors came to watch films together and now it is a true summer tradition no one wants to be without. The audience starts early with a cosy picnic in the green grass and the evening ends with a wonderful film screening under the stars.

This year's edition of Sommarbio will take part in Rålambshovsparken, Stockholm, August 17-21 and includes film classic such as Jurassic Park, Alien and The Matrix to mention a few.

-We are incredibly happy to be back in a beautiful park in Stockholm without any restrictions and to invite an international audience from all over the world to the film party of the year in the open air.
