Here is this year's Industry Days at the Stockholm Film Festival 2022

The Stockholm International Film Festival now presents its Industry Program 2022. The Industry Days take place on 15-17 November.

The events include masterclasses by critically acclaimed directors Tarik Saleh and Ali Abbasi. Presentations and Works in Progress for both Nordic and Ukrainian projects are in focus made with the Odessa International Film Festival. The festival will also feature the initiative Meet the Streamers, where presentations with Nordic representatives for Warner Bros. Discovery, Viaplay Group and Prime Video will take place during the industry days.

The festival is back after the pandemic and in order to spread film joy around the country, young students are offered Industry accreditation at a discounted price. A selection of this year's edition of the Industry Program is available globally at Festival on Demand for Industry accredited.

Masterclasses

TARIK SALEH

Tarik Saleh
, the Director behind »Boy from Heaven« (2022), Sweden’s nomination for next year’s Academy Awards and the winner of Best Screenplay at Cannes 2022. Saleh stepped into the world of screens in the late 90s, and found new ways to experiment with creative expression. Saleh, being the definition of a multi-talented filmmaker, has done everything from producing and writing TV-series to directing feature films, music videos and documentaries. His critically acclaimed »The Nile Hilton Incident« (2017), for which he was both the director and screenwriter, was awarded the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize at Sundance and a Guldbagge for Best Film.

Where: Bio Mauritz, Filmhuset
When: November 15th, 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm

ALI ABBASI

Ali Abbasi has a history of creating suspenseful, captivating films and his latest work »Holy Spider« (2022) is no exception. With his international background and diverse set of creative skills, Abbasi has a way of captivating the audience with his raw and poignant storytelling – intentionally shying away from the classic forms of poetic storytelling that his home country Iran is known for. His first feature film »Shelley« (2016) was screened at the Berlin International Film Festival, and his second feature »Border« (2018) won the Un Certain Regard award at Cannes, as well as being selected as Sweden’s nomination for the Academy Awards.

Where: Bio Mauritz, Filmhuset
When: November 16th, 1:30 pm -2:30 pm

The Industry Days take place on 15-17 November. The accreditation can be purchased here.
