Bob Dylan släpper samlingsboxen The 1974 Live Recordings
Bob Dylan - The 1974 Live Recordings, Ny 27 CD samlingsbox innehållande 431 inspelningar från Dylans arenaturné med The Band 1974, släpps 20 september via Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings.
En deluxe box med 417 ej tidigare utgivna framträdanden, nymastrade inspelningar med liner notes av Elizabeth Nelson.
3-LP Highlights Box kommer släppas av Third Man Records, som innehåller låtar som inte ingick på originalalbumet Before The Flood från 1974.
En ej tidigare släppt version av “Forever Young,” Live in Seattle, Feb 9, 1974 (Afternoon Show) har idag släppts på digitala plattformar.
Columbia Records och Legacy Recordings, Sony Musics katalogavdelning släpper 20 september 1974 Live Recordings i samband med firandet av 50-årsjubileumet av Bob Dylans återkomst till turnerande 1974. Innehållande alla Dylans professionellt inspelande konserter backad av The Band från 1974 samlade i en deluxebox med 27 CD. The 1974 Live Recordings ger fans tillgång till 417 ej tidigare utgivna livespår med Dylan – varav 133 nymixade inspelningar från 16-spårstaper och alla tillgängliga mixerbordsinspelningar – allt med nya liner notes av journalisten och kritikern Elizabeth Nelson.
Bob Dylans 1974 turné var första gången på åtta år som han turnerade och som fick honom att återförenas med The Band. Bandet hade för första gången någonsin bokats in på större arenor och 30 spelningar gjordes på 42 dagar (ibland två spelningar om dagen) Och inför en publik över 18.000 personer hyllades Bob och bandet av både fans och kritiker Rolling Stone’s Ben Fong-Torres beskrev det som “searing and soaring, unified and precise…excellent in itself.” Moch musikkritikern Robert Christgau jämförde ljudet som Bob Dylan “running over his old songs like a truck.”
Delar av turnén släpptes senare på dubbelalbumet Before the Flood. The 1974 Live Recordings innehåller allt – kassetter, 1⁄4” tapes och de konserter som spelades in på 16 spårs taper har nyligen mixats om för denna samlingsbox.
