Rethinking the way we use water. Unity4Water is a new groundbreaking research project that aims to create efficient methods to convert industrial process water and wastewater into a valuable resource for food production. The project combines the latest technology with social science. A research and demonstration facility will be built where recycled industrial process water and wastewater are used to grow vegetables. This approach saves water and recycles nutrients, reducing the need for artificial fertilizers. Advanced technologies such as optical sensors, electronic noses, dynamic light, carbon capture technology, AI, and machine learning will be used to monitor the water and optimize crop growth. The researchers also plan to use mini-drones equipped with multispectral cameras to measure plant health. This is a collaboration between MDU, RISE, and 30 partners in the industry and food production. The three-year project has been granted funding totaling SEK 31 million, half of which comes from the partners and half from Vinnova, Formas & the Swedish Energy Agency through the strategic innovation program PiiA, process industrial IT, and Automation. How can we design a sustainable society based on the latest technology? And how can we build and deploy a smart connected society that can handle both today ́s and tomorrow’s challenges?💡

DigIT Hub, Innotech TaskForce, OiL FIWARE iHub and partners invites you to an event where we’ll explore these questions and see examples from implementations of Smart Society in Denmark and Sweden.

Join the discussion as we cover areas such as:

* Open source & APIs and standardized architecture based on Fiware and Gaia-X

* How data can be shared and monetized

* Legal and financial framework for City Environment, water, energy & traffic/mobility control

* AI and Digital Twins

* Sensors and communication, system security, access control and data structures

❓Who is it for? Suppliers of smart city systems, city/society planners in local municipalities and local government, consultancy companies and anyone interested in connected societies empowered by technology.

⏱️ When: March 21, 08:00-17:00

📍 Where: Media Evolution, Malmö

How to manage IoT information overload

Digitalization has led to an exponential increase in the amount of data generated. However, analyzing such an immense amount of data can be challenging, especially with massive IoT, where thousands or hundreds of thousands of devices send data to monitor and analyze on the fly, where you need to find anomalies and places where your operations can improve. Finding valuable insights from such data can be like finding a needle in a rapidly moving haystack.
