Scientology hunter put on non-active
Taken from Hamburger Morgen Post of 18 August 2010
Bit by bit is the truth revealed: despite protest by the Ministry of Interior, will the nationwide-only investigation office on Scientology be closed at the end of the month.
By THOMAS HIRSCHBIEGEL
After its first inquiry at the beginning of the month by the Morgen Post on Sunday it was told that no one was thinking about abolishing the 17 year old workgroup on Scientology. There was only a reorganization happening and Scientology-hunter Ursula Caberta (59) would continue her successful job. But now the truth comes out: in the future will Ursula Caberta get an office in the Office of Interior and only take care of the public relations on the subject of Scientology.
Her advisory functions will be taken over by an employee of the Constitutional Office. The colleagues of Caberta will get other functions. The spaces of the Advice Office at the Admiralitätsstrasse will be closed per 31 December. What will happen with the unique Scientology archive which is stored there is not yet clear. There are also secret documents.
Andreas Dressel (SPD) sees in the closing of this Advisory Office “a devastating signal”. The Interior expert: “What Scientology didn’t manage to do – to bring down Caberta – that is now done by the Senate.” Ulla Jelpke, the Left Wing spokesperson for interior matters says:”A scandal. That means free way for Scientology.” Also the sect-responsible from Berlin, Thomas Gandow, regrets the “Victory for Scientology”.
A Scientology spokesperson in Hamburg salutes the closing of Caberta’s office and designated it as wasting of tax payers money.
