West Swedish Company Pioneer - Interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) Opened Opportunity to Lead

Ann-Sofie Gustafsson, who lives in Strömstad, has been interested in AI and its impact on businesses for a couple of years as her consulting company, SamCert AB, has extensive experience in organization and management. The company specializes in helping other businesses with certifications according to ISO standards for IT/cybersecurity, quality management, and sustainability.
Now her company is the first to embark on its certification journey according to ISO/IEC 42001, as the first customer in the world with DNV.

- "AI has become a special interest of mine," says Ann-Sofie Gustafsson. "When I was writing about the opportunities with AI and management systems on our website, I discovered that there was a new ISO standard that regulates the responsible and ethical use of AI in businesses."

- "I immediately called SIS, the Swedish Institute for Standards, and ordered the standard, which is called ISO/IEC 42001. After familiarizing myself with it, I became even more curious and concluded that my company could be certified according to the new ISO-standard."

- "Then I started looking for certification bodies in Sweden. DNV mentioned the standard on their website, and that was the start of an exciting certification journey."

It has now turned out that SamCert is the first company in the world to initiate the certification process according to the new standard with DNV.”
