The Gothenburg based company Calmino Group goes international with IBS treatment

Calmino Group has started sales on the international market. Austria is first out and South Africa is next in June. At the same time the company immerse in more research together with Chalmers and the Sahlgrenska Academy (Gothenburg University) and internationally. IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) is now very common, both in the western world and in Africa.

"We focus on Europe but the world is interested. After two important scientific publications about AVH200, the extract used in Proibs, our Swedish developed dietary management of IBS, the interest from different countries has increased, says Tobias Kisker, CEO of Calmino Group.

After Business Region Göteborg presented Calmino Group, Business Sweden then presented them during the BIO International Convention in Chicago. Present were Sanova Pharma - Austria's largest distributor of pharmaceuticals - who recently launched Proibs at the Pharmacy Fair in Vienna.

"Sales in Austria is up and running and this gives us a good push to go further in Europe. We see that sales for Calmino Group will double," says Tobias Kisker. The company at Sahlgrenska Science Park is prepared for growth, and will recruit during the year.

"The interest from South Africa was a little more surprising and has a huge potential," continues Tobias Kisker.

IBS is at least as common in Africa as it is in the West. Today we talk more and more about the post-infectious IBS, as it is common that the symptoms begin after a gastric infection.

"In terms of further research and development, we keep on building more partnerships, both in the Gothenburg region and with international players," says Tobias Kisker.

Proibs is available today at any pharmacy chain in Sweden. The product contains a unique plant extract that has shown very positive results in a double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical study at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg. As of July 1, 2013 the pharmaceutical company Nordic Drugs is responsible for sales and marketing of Proibs in the Nordic region.

Calmino Group AB was founded in 2003 and conduct business at Sahlgrenska Science Park in Gothenburg. The company is focused on growth and is now looking for staff in administrative functions.

Calmino develop well documented products under their own brand in the areas of oral, skin and stomach / intestinal care as well as private label products in the same areas.
