WITHINGS is participating in the fight against covid-19

Withings is a French company with 10 years of experience working with products within health and connected services. Withings is now participating in several research projects and actions in the fight against covid-19.

Withings creates devices embedded in easy-to-use everyday objects that connect to apps and act as powerful daily health check-ups, as well as tools to help master long-term health goals. Withings was founded by innovators Cédric Hutchings and Eric Carreel in 2008 and with a team of engineers, doctors and health care professionals they have invented the world's most efficient units to help measure and analyse people's health. The range includes award-winning products across the health spectrum including hybrid smartwatches, connected scales, blood pressure monitors and an advanced sleep system. Every measurement and information collected is found in the Health Mate app where the users can find their personal data and advice including valuable insights to share with their doctor.

Withings is now doing what they can in the fight against covid-19 and plans to make its medical products available to support healthcare in scientific research to fight covid-19. Research projects are investigating, among other things, the extent to which heart rate fluctuations and nightly breathing breaks may be signs of covid-19 or may be associated with their development. Here Withing has the opportunity to provide the hybrid smartwatch Scanwatch and their sleep sensor mat called Sleep Analyzer announced at CES. Scanwatch can be used to measure heart rate and oxygen saturation on the wrist via SPO2 and PPG sensors. Sleep Analyzer is also available for recorded heart rate and nightly breathing breaks during the night. The purpose is to monitor symptoms and their development at a distance to facilitate staff in the health care.

Withings has therefore partnered up with the Digital Alliance in France to help improving knowledge of the virus and has integrated the maladiecoronavirus.fr’s questionnaire into their app. Withings’ engagement to be an actor in this crisis isn’t only national, as Withings has also taken action in Germany by encouraging its users to contribute to the Robert Koch Institute’s Corona Dataspende app to help better understand the evolution of the virus in the country.

In addition to participating in numerous research projects, Withings has also donated Thermo, which is their contactless clinical thermometer to hospitals along with 50,000 protective masks for the Regional Health Agency (ARS) in France.
