Swedish Cycling Federation launch the first SWE Cup in esport
Swedish Cycling Federation (SCF) presented SWE Cup together with Guided Heroes, Wahoo and Swedish Zwift Rider.
For first time ever you can compete in a tour at Zwift only together with Swedish cyclists. Through a unique collaboration we have create a SWE Cup within the new exciting and growing esport area.
“This collaboration provides a fantastic opportunity for our members to be challenged and keep cycling during winter. We also hope that exercisers and new cyclists who train at Zwift today will be curious about us as a federation and cycling in general,”says Peo Johansson at SCF.
This is the official SWE Cup in e-sport for Swedish riders. It will be held on the Zwift platform. To compete in the cup the rider will need a license from SCF or become a free member of Swe Cycling Club. It will be a cup of five races during the winter. First race is January 9thand the cup will be held every second week. It will be one separate class for women and one for men, where the top five riders in each class will receive prizes. There will be an exciting extra exhibition race at The Swedish Bicycle Show at March 22nd with invited cyclists.
“We have many adepts who appreciate being able to run structured workouts and races against and with other cyclists,” says Conny Björnehall, responsible for esport at Guided Heroes. Together with SCF we help people train during the winter. We will do social rides and a pre-race event every week to prepare you for the track of the next SCF SWE Cup race”, concludes Björnehall.

Martin Björgevik from The Swedish Zwift riders says that they have watched and seen what is happening on the international scene and are very happy to see that the Swedish Cycling Fedration are one of the first national federations that has embraced indoor cycling and esport.

About Swedish Zwift Riders
The Swedish Zwift Riders (SZR) started on the 9th September 2015 by Martin Björgvik and a friend. Zwift was still in beta but we had seen a few Swedish riders online and decided to create a Facebook group to get in contact with them. Since then the community has grown tremendously and now in december 2019 the community has over 6600 members. We organize over 20 events a week and has hundreds of riders joining every event.
