​Name SRS exclusive accredited registrar for .stockholm

For a while now, Name ISP manages the domain portfolio including management for the City of Stockholm. The portfolio also includes a number of domain names for the city's very own top-level domain, .stockholm. All domain names in the portfolio are managed by the company group's registrar platform, Name SRS.

In 2014, the City of Stockholm secured the rights to the top-level domain .stockholm, while at the same time making a strategic decision to wait to start using it actively, in order to see and learn how other big cities use their TLDs. A weighty motive for securing their own top-level domain was to keep control of Stockholm's brand and avoid that .stockholm ended up with an outsider. In 2019 .stockholm was launched for internal use and Name SRS has now signed an agreement as an exclusive accredited registrar for .stockholm.

The accreditation means that Name SRS as the only registrar can register domain names under the TLD .stockholm. At the moment it is only open to the City of Stockholm.
