The making of this song and music video was fun but also insanely lot of work. I have my recording studio in Brewhouse Gothenburg and since this summer I have been releasing one song a month also with music videos. I am a 100% DIY-artist.
I am able to do this because I also have two other consulting jobs, one as a communication manager at GU Ventures a one as a teacher in the University of Gothenburg.
I am super thankful for these jobs as it enables me to also focus on releasing my music, which is something I couldn´t do when I worked with other artists in my studio. The work is fun and very creative and I don´t mind spending late nights working with it. Since corona hit, I lost all my DJ-gigs and piano gigs. But I put the effort in finishing a lot of my songs and planning my releases instead.
As a single mother, consultant, teacher and my work for equality I feel sometimes that the work never ends, but I wouldn´t and couldn´t have it another way. I am grateful to be able to do this. I often think about if I was born in the 50:s I would never be able to do this in this way! And I have great support from my 15 year old son too.
So what can I do with no budget and just my brain? I am lucky to have colleagues at EQLovesMusic who were keen to act as vampires and which crows! And my friend, the designer Viveka Gren, of course who are the designer behind what we are wearing in the video.
I love halloween and it is a opportunity for me to go into a creative fantasy world. It is the fantasy of empowerment and characterization of the outcasts. To play with the unknown and the uncomfortable sides of us. Sides that might seem scary. The empowerment of the outcasts is the intriguing idea that summons my audiovisual design of this video. As female music producers we have been outcasts for a long time and the visual is summing all the negativity into empowered fantasy-creatures in a halloweenish way with with a little twinkle in the eye. With uptempo electronic strong and powerful music to accompaniment.
How did we do it ? Well, lets just say great people,a black wall, clothes, makeup and final cut pro did the job! My friends in the video choose their own vampire names also.
I also produced the music for the intro and also the outtro, which is a slower electronic beat with synthwawe flavor:
These are some photos from the video shoot:

The story is about a girl who magically enters the evil Halloween Land and getting chased and bitten by a vampire, to see the intro go here:
"With this audiovisual audiovisual design, I wish I could give a little extra atmosphere to the Halloween party and the weekend, to maybe get a little magic break from everyday life, and I hope you will enjoy it! 🎃👻" says Melisha.
