82,000 visitors to the Eurovision Village, 1,100 journalists in the media centre and a full house at Malmö Live. After months of preparation and a hectic Eurovision week, we have reached the finish line.
With two days to go until the final, Eurovision Village will feature big names like Haddaway, Käärijä, and Kalush Orchestra. There will also be a lot of Roxette nostalgia and Swedish "dance band" with ESC legends Arvingarna. And of course there will be dancing and a drag show!
The second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest will be shown on the big screen at the Euphoria Stage in Folkets park. The screening is free and does not require a ticket. Please note that this means changes to the programme in the Eurovision Village on May 9. The concert with Robin S is moved to 19:00 and the performance with DJ Alan is moved to 19:30.
Halfway through Eurovision week and Malmö is filling up with music and fans. On Euphoria Stage we'll have big star Robin S, Schlagerfeber with Shirley Clamp & Frans and six of the ESC artists. It will be show time when Swedish artists sing their favourite ABBA songs. And even more ABBA when DJ Mademoiselle Carousel invites us to a sing-along. And one of the world's greatest ESC DJs will join us.
After a great opening weekend in the Eurovision Village, Monday and Tuesday bring new artists and more sunshine to the park. The Euphoria Stage will feature Eurovision favourites Conchita Wurst, Go_A, Jay Smith, and this year's ESC artists from Italy, Malta, Albania, and Armenia.
Signs of the approaching Eurovision week are now visible in sunny Malmö - flags, decorations, stage construction and lots of people on the move. Making Malmö feel inviting and welcoming is important for the city's hosting. Many Malmö residents are involved in creating experiences and a beautiful and sustainable decoration.
Five days to go until the opening of the Eurovision Village and the City of Malmö is releasing new artists for the programme. Iconic Swedish pop group the Herreys celebrates a 40-year career and makes a visit to Malmö. The Eurovision week also offers nostalgia with Pandora and Da Buzz, and a visit from many people's favourite Finn Käärijä, and Kalush Orchestra from Ukraine.
We can finally announce that several of the competing artists will be performing at the Euphoria stage in Eurovision Village throughout the week. In several cases, the artists will perform their entries in the park before taking the stage at the Malmö Arena. The audience can also expect some surprise hits.
The live broadcast of the Eurovision final from Malmö Arena will be shown on big screens in the Eurovision Village, Folkets Park in Malmö on May 11. The public screening starts at 21:00 CET. Fifteen minutes before that, at 20:45, the hosts will start on stage. Admission is free and does not require a ticket.
As Malmö hosts the Eurovision Song Contest, the world's biggest music competition, bags will be banned in Folkets Park and at Malmö Live. At the same time, the city is looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors. This was the focus of yesterday's press conference.
