AB Ludvig Svensson partners with NordShield
Textile producer AB Ludvig Svensson is partnering with Finland-based NordShield, the developer behind a textile treatment that forms an invisible, yet physical barrier against bacteria.
From autumn 2023, customers will be able to choose from a selection of interior textiles from AB Ludvig Svensson that has been treated with the NordShield technology. The wood-based technology works by forming a thin protective layer that hinders the accumulation of microbes on the surface of the fibers.
The treatment enables interior textiles to be used more frequently in care environments with stringent hygiene standards.Due to its molecular-level operation, it seamlessly integrates with the textile without altering its properties or appearance.
“The collaboration with NordShield is important as it challenges the notion of where our interior textiles can be used,” explains Annika Svedberg, business area manager at Svensson. “By incorporating textiles treated with NordShield in care environments where the use of textile is limited, we can help create personalised spaces that can contribute to the recovery process.”
Additionally, NordShield-treated textiles are also ideal for office environments and schools, with the added benefit of bacteria control. The treatment is offered for a curated selection of hanging textiles from Svensson and includes curtain fabrics that are soundproofing-classified.
