Malmö, Sweden – April 25th 2024 – Light My Fire, the pioneering Swedish brand behind the iconic Spork, announces the launch of its new Plates Collection, a health-oriented addition to the world of outdoor dining. This new collection signifies a leap in design and food safety, combined with promoting the joy of eating under the bare sky.

The Future of Tableware
Designed by Swedish product designer Carl-Johan Skogh, the Plates Collection is a line of tableware that combines aesthetic appeal with functional benefits and material safety. Made from bioplastic materials that are 15% bio-based, BPA-free and EU/FDA food approved, this collection is safe for both dishwasher and microwave use, unlike melamine and some bamboo tableware.

The Plates Collection features an intentional asymmetry, drawing inspiration from Eastern aesthetics like wabi-sabi to contrast the mass-produced feel of traditional tableware. Its matte finish is not only shatterproof and scratch-resistant but also tactile, enhancing the overall quality and appeal.

“Our goal was to create a product family that looks good, feels good and does good,” explained Skogh, the collection’s designer. “From the curvature that complements a Spork to the plates’ ability to stack for efficient transport and storage to the food-safe materials, every detail has been thoughtfully considered.”
