Press release Konstfack The largest ever Konstfack Spring Exhibition: MA 15-27 May, BA 11 May - 5 June 144 degree projects both at our Telefonplan home and around the city. A video paraphrasing Daft Punk’s Around the World, textile design as un-apocalyptic media critique, a car which winks an apology, furniture for the city with the greatest density of single people in the world, campers looking for meaning among flora and fauna, a personal Graceland, jewellery of veined, see-through reindeer skin – all this and much more when Konstfack gives its greatest ever Spring Exhibition. Starting this year, bachelor’s degree students are also exhibiting*. On display are 71 works from the BA programme and 73 from the MA programme, representing all seven departments: Graphic Design & Illustration GDI, Industrial Design ID, Interior Architecture & Furniture Design IA, Fine Arts K, Ceramics & Glass KG, Metal Design – Ädellab MF and Textiles T. The exhibition opens to the public at 12.00. Press access is from 10.00, at which time you are welcome to collect your copy of the 400-page Exhibition Catalogue. Stockholm musical combo /Ingenting/ will play at 18.00. Common to all Konstfack courses is that they are rooted in the arts. The college, founded in 1844, has today c. 900 students and 200 staff. * European universities now co-ordinate higher education and degrees – the so-called Bologna Accord. Previously, Konstfack students were admitted to a five-year Master’s programme. Starting this year, students apply for a three-year Bachelor’s programme or for a two-year Master’s programme.
