IsaDora partners with UN Women Sweden to promote gender equality and empower girls and women

No country in the world has achieved gender equality. Despite all research showing that societies are more peaceful, healthier, and economically strong when women and men, girls and boys have the same opportunities and rights. Today, young women are a powerful force in global efforts for peace, human rights, and gender equality – a new “Generation Equality.”

IsaDora, Sweden's leading makeup brand, is today launching a partnership with UN Women Sweden. The partnership, which starts in the fall of 2024 and runs until October 2025, aims to promote gender equality and strengthen the rights of girls and women globally and nationally, by supporting UN Women's Generation Equality initiative.

Through the partnership with UN Women Sweden, IsaDora is taking a stand for girls' and women’s rights as part of its sustainability work through social responsibility. Together, they want to raise awareness and support for gender equality worldwide.

We live in a world with a large young generation. There are over 1.8 billion young people globally today. These are tomorrow's leaders and our future. That's why we need to invest in this new young generation.

However, globally, young girls and women remain a neglected group. They are often excluded from decision-making and rarely benefit from the same resources as young men and boys, in terms of education, jobs, and economic opportunities. Around the world, women are often victims of violence and harassment. Yet it is often young girls and women who are at the forefront of the fight against injustice and for human rights and gender equality.

Generation Equality

UN Women's Generation Equality initiative highlights the fact that no country in the world has yet achieved gender equality, and that more effort is needed in all countries. The young generation is an important force in the work for peace, gender equality, and human rights. They are driven and see new opportunities. At the same time, girls and women in the world today are severely discriminated against and do not have the same opportunities for their future. UN Women's Generation Equality initiative highlights the young generation and works to ensure that young girls and women have the same opportunities in life and can show their full potential. This is done through various initiatives and programs around the world and in Sweden.

“The young generation is such a powerful force for change” says Ulrika Grandin, Executive Director of UN Women Sweden. But girls and young women are also a group that often faces discrimination globally. “We are so happy that IsaDora wants to work with us to put the spotlight on this young generation of girls and young women and we look forward to the collaboration going forward.”

The partnership’s activities

IsaDora and UN Women Sweden will collaborate through the following initiatives, among others:

International Day of the Girl (11th October)

IsaDora will organize a roundtable event on gender equality and empowerment of girls and women.

The Matte Lipstick Campaign

IsaDora launches a campaign where a portion of the proceeds from the sale of their new Matte Lipstick is donated to UN Women Sweden to support Generation Equality.

Social Media Campaigns

IsaDora will use its social media channels to spread the word and encourage donations. The focus will be on Matte Lipstick to inspire and engage followers to support gender equality efforts.

“We are proud to partner with UN Women Sweden to promote global gender equality,” says Felicia Ibsen, Global Marketing Director at IsaDora. “We believe we have a shared responsibility with everyone working for the rights of girls and women, and we hope that more will follow our example. Together we are stronger, and we are here to take our responsibility to influence and improve the world in the ways we can.”

In 2025, IsaDora and UN Women Sweden will continue their collaboration with more joint activities.
