Press release -
iGrant.io data wallet first to support EBSI v2, the European public sector blockchain service
iGrant.io announces data wallet conformance to European Blockchain Service Infrastructure (EBSI) version 2, the first digital wallet to support both versions. Traditionally used in the financial world, digital wallets increasingly find their way into non-financial services. The iGrant.io data wallet enables information exchange in a privacy-preserving and regulatory-compliant manner, eliminating the need to carry a physical wallet by storing a user's data securely and compactly. It supports both ledger and non-ledger-based trust anchors. With EBSI v2 support, iGrant.io extends beyond Hyperledger Indy and X.509-based trust anchors.
iGrant.io co-founder and CEO Lotta Lundin says: “A lot has happened since the release of our first data wallet in February 2021. As a European data intermediary, passing the conformance test for version 2 is a true testament that we have invested our development time wisely. The EBSI support opens our technology to services across the European public sector”.
About EBSI
The European Blockchain Services Infrastructure (EBSI) was created in 2018 when 29 countries (EU Member States plus Norway and Liechtenstein) and the European Commission joined forces to create the European Blockchain Partnership (EBP). EBP’s vision is to leverage blockchain to create cross-border services for public administrations, businesses, citizens and their ecosystems to verify the information and make services trustworthy.
