Press release -
iGrant.io a partner in EUDI Wallet Consortium (EWC) winning bid to pilot European Digital Identity Wallet
iGrant.io is delighted to be a technology partner in the EUDI consortium selected by the European Commission to participate in the large-scale pilots to ensure interoperability and adoption of the European Digital Identity Wallet. The project, led by Swedish and Finnish government authorities, is valued at 37 MEUR and is expected to start early next year.
The consortium, which has over 60 participating organisations from most EU Member States, Associated Countries and beyond, was formed as a response to private and public stakeholders seeking to leverage innovative solutions to exchange digital attestations of attributes and credentials using a digital wallet that puts users in full control of their online identity and data. iGrant.io will support the project in piloting an Organisation Digital Identity (ODI) solution alongside other Swedish companies, such as BankID and Tink, and DIGG, the Swedish agency for digital government.
The pilot will cover multiple use cases, including mobile driving licences, digital travel credentials and trusted business-to-business interactions. It will demonstrate how eIDAS 2.0, the revised electronic identity and trust services legislation, provides the basis for solving many of the privacy, security and user experience problems previously encountered by citizens in their digital lives.
iGrant.io co-founder and CEO Lotta Lundin says: “It’s encouraging to see how the public sector is driving the use of new technology to pave the way for businesses and citizens to gain control of their digital identity and data. We are proud to continue being a technology partner with Bolagsverket, the Swedish Companies Registration Office, and look forward to building an interoperable, cross-border ecosystem for data exchange”.
