GöteborgsVarvet Half Marathon aims for a new world record in 2010
58 122 runners are registrated to GöteborgsVarvet Half Marathon May 22nd, 2010.
This strengthens our position as the world’s now largest Half Marathon. The interest for the 2010 race was so enormous that we already meet our entry quote in October 2009.
Last years race on May 16th had 53 848 entries of which 40 523 finished. The former largest Half Marathon race was BUPA Great North Run in Newcastle, which took place in September 2009 and had 37 598 finisher.
“We work constantly to maintain our quality to be the best running event in the World. Our vision is to improve life quality and offer a festive atmosphere for both our runners and spectators. Our goal is not to be the largest Half Marathon in the World, but we are proud to be in this position and for the huge interest in GöteborgsVarvet Half Marathon”, says the Race Director

GöteborgsVarvet Half Marathon (21 097,5 metres) is organized by Gothenburg Athletic Association. The track is located in the heart of one of Scandinavia’s most beautiful cities. The course will be lined with 200.000 enthusiastic spectators and over 50 music bands are playing along the course.
