GINA TRICOT LAUNCHES CHILDREN’S CLOTHING COLLECTION, GINA TRICOT MINI

Gina Tricot adds a new element of playfulness to its brand with the launch of its first children’s clothing collection. Gina Tricot Mini is a “Mommy & Me Concept” with matching unisex garments, the majority of which are manufactured from sustainable materials. In conjunction with the launch, Gina Tricot also embarks on a new collaboration with the children’s rights organization, Childhood. Several specially designed products will be launched, where 10% of the revenue will be donated to Childhood’s efforts to prevent children from becoming victims of violence and sexual abuse.

Gina Tricot continues its efforts to meet the demands and expectations of its target group. With that in mind, the fashion chain is now launching its first children’s clothing collection. Gina Tricot Mini is a colourful, playful, matching collection for the fashion-loving mom and her children. The entire collection has a unisex design for children 1-6 years old. And, most of the garments have been manufactured from comfortable, more sustainable materials such as Better Cotton, Viscose from Lenzing® and Organic Cotton. The first collection has a cool, rock-n-roll feel, mixed with fun prints and playful colours. The underlying theme of the entire collection is a positive, important message celebrating every mother and the strong bond she has with her children. Later this spring, we can expect another Gina Tricot Mini collection launch!

“It feels like a dream-come-true! The concept originated from the strong bond of love I felt for my daughter when she was born. I’ve always been impressed by the women in my life. Then, when I became a mother myself, I realized the true POWER that we women possess! That’s when ideas started spinning in my head about a matching collection for mother + mini. It would symbolize the strong bond that exists between a mother and her children. It was decided right from the get-go that it would be a unisex collection. It’s important that this feeling permeates the entire collection, and I definitely feel we’ve achieved that goal, says Johanna Hernström, Head Purchaser at Gina Tricot.

“It’s so exciting, being able to offer our customers the opportunity to purchase children’s clothing from us for the first time. I hope that this will become a permanent feature of our future business venture,” says Anna Appelqvist, New Business Director.

In conjunction with the launch of Gina Tricot Mini, the fashion chain will also be embarking on a new collaboration with the children’s rights organization, World Childhood Foundation, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2019.

“We’re extremely happy about our collaboration with Gina Tricot and that they’ve decided to support Childhood via a selection of specially designed garments from their new children’s clothing collection. Together, we will be able to draw attention to our mission and important efforts aimed at preventing children from becoming victims of violence and sexual abuse,” says Secretary General of the World Childhood Foundation.

Gina Tricot Mini will be launched at selected Gina Tricot stores and online at ginatricot.com on 14 March 2019.
