FundedByMe and IE Business School announce innovative global collaboration

FundedByMe, Europe’s fastest-growing crowd investment platform for entrepreneurs and investors, has announced a launch into Spain through a partnership with IE Business School. Signed during IE Business School’s Venture Days on Thursday last week, the agreement launches the popular crowdfunding platform to a Spanish ecosystem of entrepreneurs and investors - giving them access to an international audience of active crowd investors – and also taps the global audience of IE alumni.

The FundedByMe platform currently has 6,000 investors, 300 startups, and €300m of investment capacity, with €2m already invested in eight companies. This new partnership with IE Business School engages an additional 45,000 globally minded IE alumni on both an entrepreneurial and investor level. Spain is the first country outside of Scandinavia for FundedByMe, which to date has focused on reaching investors and entrepreneurs in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland.

“The start up community around the globe is more active than ever but finding capital remains tough, particularly in Spain, where IE Business School is headquartered,” says FundedByMe CEO and co-founder Daniel Daboczy. “FundedByMe is looking to change that and put entrepreneurs back on a path of economic growth.” He continues, “IE Business School is an outstanding partner for us given the entrepreneurial profile of its student base and its focus on entrepreneurship – particularly via initiatives such as the Venture Lab Accelerator Program.”

As part of the agreement, FundedByMe Spain will be based on the IE Business School campus in Madrid, at the School’s startup incubator “Area 31”. Liz Fleming, Deputy Director of the Venture Lab incubator at IE Business School, is excited by this collaboration, “IE may be one of the first business schools in the world to collaborate with an equity crowdfunding platform and for us to offer this service to our startup teams and alumni across the globe is hugely powerful. FundedByMe is a fantastic resource for the startup community, helping both entrepreneurs find funding and giving investors access to quality deal flow – we are thrilled.”
