Most popular destinations 2023 – according to reader statistics on FREEDOMtravel

On the digital travel magazine FREEDOMtravel there are over 4,000 travel articles, and new articles about travel destinations or other travel-related topics are published every day. The editors have reviewed statistics for 2023, and we can now reveal which destinations have been most popular to read about during the year.

Most popular destinations at FREEDOMtravel

At the digital travel magazine FREEDOMtravel, which was started 15 years ago, there are around 4,600 articles about destinations and other travel-related topics and every day, 365 days a year, a new artice is published. So, what is read the most?

What is read is of course influenced by which articles are published, but as many readers use Google to find the articles, people’s search behaviour also influence the reading. To find out what has been read most during 2023 the editors reviewed the 100 most read articles during the year, according to Google Analytics, and sorted them into countries and destinations.

Most popular destinations in Sweden

A few bigger cities are on the top list of popular destinations in Sweden, such as Stockholm and Helsingborg. Above that, mainly small charming towns are topping the list. At the very top you find Gränna, a place which also by FREEDOMtravel got the award ”Destination of the Year Sweden” 2023 during the fair ”Elmia Caravan Show” this year.
