CITROËN CHOOSE FLIC TO MAKE ON-BOARD CONNECTIVITY EASIER & SAFER
Shortcut Labs is proud to announce that global automotive innovation leader Citroën has chosen Flic to create the Citroën switch. This physical button activates the smartphone app Mi Ami play with a simple push.
Touching your phone while driving is illegal and unsafe, yet electrical vehicles, last-mile delivery, and the gig economy are painstakingly dependent on the use of apps while driving. Flic makes apps for drivers safe to interact with by providing physical shortcut buttons.
For more than 100 years, Citroën has provided mobility solutions placing customer satisfaction and innovation at the forefront of its operations. The newly launched urban electric Citroën Ami is the first vehicle to feature My Ami play, a brand-new solution including a menu of essential functions, such as Navigation and Calls, via the “My Citroën” app.
Sweden-based Flic, the leading Smart Button company, is helping customers and companies simplify routines using the wireless and programmable Flic buttons.
The result of the partnership of these innovative companies is the Citroën Switch. This intuitive orange control allows access to the driver’s favorite functions with a simple push without the need to take the eyes off the road. It can be placed anywhere on the steering wheel or the dashboard, allowing the driver to choose the best location within reach of their left or right hand. The Citroën Switch is connected to the app via Bluetooth®, elevating the driving experience without the need to connect wires.
“We are thrilled to partner with Citroën and create the Citroën Switch, which makes the driving experience easier and safer. Our partnership shows how versatile and adaptable Flic buttons are, used to simplify everyday routines in the Automotive industry. The positive customer reviews make all of us here at Flic proud of our product, and we are looking forward to further developing this collaboration,” says Joacim Westlund Prändel, one of ShortcutLab’s founders, the company behind Flic.
Citroën Switch is included as standard on new orders of ‘My Ami Pop’ and ‘My Ami Tonic’ and versions featuring a color pack from September 2022. It can also be ordered as an accessory from local Citroën authorized parts suppliers.
