The Netherlands approves local energy sharing - opens up the market for Ferroamp’s PowerShare technology

The Netherlands has approved local energy sharing in microgrids, opening up the market for Ferroamp’s PowerShare technology. At the same time, collaboration is being developed with the Dutch wholesaler and distributor Indutecc and its parent company Schuurman Group.

The Netherlands is one of the first countries in Europe to approve microgrids for energy sharing between properties. This is a strategically important development for future electrification and power management in the Netherlands. With its patented PowerShare solution, Ferroamp is able to support the Dutch market in the expansion of energy sharing and power optimisation between buildings.

“It’s incredibly exciting that the Netherlands is now choosing to approve energy sharing in microgrids. This opens up new opportunities in the Dutch market. We see that Sweden and other countries in Europe are also planning for legislation to allow local energy sharing, which further increases the benefit of our solutions,” says Niklas Cassel, Chief Commercial Officer at Ferroamp.

At the same time, Ferroamp is developing its collaboration with the long-established Dutch Schuurman Group, one of the oldest and most prominent corporate groups in the Netherlands, with well-developed wholesale and distribution channels, to develop sales and distribution in the Netherlands and Belgium. This collaboration began just over a year ago through the Schuurman Group’s subsidiary Indutecc. The companies are now taking further steps towards an enhanced partnership for growth in the Dutch market.

“With our patented PowerShare technology for energy sharing between properties, we have solutions to the challenges currently being faced by the Dutch market. So it’s very important that we can become well-established in the Netherlands with our international operations. The Schuurman Group, with almost 100 years of experience as a wholesaler and distributor in the Netherlands and Belgium, will be an important partner for us, as we now take the next steps in the Netherlands,” says Krister Werner, CEO of Ferroamp.

Jeroen Panis, Sales Manager North Netherlands, Indutecc, comments:

“We see a strong interest from our Dutch customers for Ferroamp’s unique PowerShare solutions, both as a means to improve the profitability of solar installations but also as a cost-efficient means of solving the grid congestion issues facing the public distribution grid.”
