Erik Forsberg is the new Managing Director of EIT Health Scandinavia from 1 March. He joins the organisation from Uppsala BIO, the life science growth initiative.

Three Think Tank roundtable meetings in Europe held by EIT Health this year have provided outcomes and discussions about how to use big data in healthcare. The last roundtable, held in Stockholm on 13. of August, focusing on biobanks and quality registers, has developed further into programme RABBIT (Registers And BioBanks in Transition) to promote better health and aging of the European citizens.

Tubus Technology is a Danish company developing simple and smart solutions to empower people with mobility disabilities. Its product TubusOne is a low-tech communication device used for navigating on tablets and smartphones. It works just like a finger on all touchscreen devices and enables people with arms and hands disabilities to use touchscreen devices by simply puffing slightly into a tube.

Three out of the four EIT Awards for Europe’s most ground-breaking entrepreneurs and innovators went to start-ups and projects supported by EIT Health. While the winner of the EIT Innovators Award goes to the Scandinavian-led project Stockholm3, the EIT Health runner-up, Multi-Mode, is also led by Scandinavian Partners.
