If Skadeförssäkring AB - DSM2025 Silver Sponsor
Read interview with Stefan Bodin – Tied Agent, in co-operation with If Skadeförsäkring AB
If Skadeförsäkring AB supports DSM2025 as Silver Sponsor. What contributed to make this decision?
As a Nordic marine insurer where the Swedish shipping cluster is a large and central part, we naturally want to be a part of and support this unique event where such a large part of our partners, colleagues and friends are gathered on the island of Donsö.
What makes DSM different from other exhibitions in your opinion?
The successful combination of having a very professional and highly relevant agenda with a local touch and friendly setting and never compromise on any of these two.
What are your expectations for DSM2025?
To, once more, have the chance to have productive and interesting meetings with colleagues and partners in the Nordic shipping cluster and enjoy the friendly and professional atmosphere unique to this event.
What is your best memory from DSM2023?
As always, I took with me the incredible and unparallelled “Donsö-spirit” and all the fantastic people that made it happen. To organise this event with the warmth and welcoming atmosphere, at the same time as being utterly professional and deliver interesting, relevant presentations and opportunities for productive meetings, is probably not possible anywhere else.
What do you find are the opportunities and the challenges in the Shipping Industry today?
Short term we mainly need to focus on the challenging security and energy situation, both in the region and on a global scale. The major long-term challenge and opportunity ahead is, from our perspective, sustainable shipping where we also consider ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) factors. We are very pleased to see that this is on the top of the agenda of the Swedish shipping cluster as well and that the impressive growth and replacement plans of existing tonnage have sustainable shipping front and centre.
How would you describe DSM in one sentence?
An unique and essential event for the entire shipping cluster
And finally, do you prefer a sail or a motorboat for recreation, and why so?
As a retired master mariner I should prefer motorboats as they have been a large part of my life but since nothing really relaxes me as much as the moment the engine of a sail driven vessel is turned off and all you hear is wind, waves, and sails. Hence, I have to say I prefer sailboats over motorboats for recreation.
