Mastercard Start Path selects Doconomy to scale up everyday climate action

Stockholm: Sweden Doconomy, who enable a sustainable lifestyle by providing Åland Index, the leading index solution for CO2 emission calculations for payments as a service to banks as well as easy to use mobile banking services to change behavior for consumers, has been selected to join Mastercard's award winning startup engagement program Start Path. The program will provide Doconomy with a platform to scale up its eco-system of services for everyday climate action.

Each year, Start Path chooses the most promising startups from 1,500+ applications to join its award-winning program. Doconomy will join 11 other later stage startups in the most recent Start Path cohort of innovators that will shape the future of commerce together.

The program provides startups with operational support, commercial engagement and the opportunity for strategic investment. Founded in 2014, Start Path has engaged with 230 startups globally which have collectively raised $2.7 billion in post program raised capital.

Founded in Sweden in 2018, Doconomy provides digital solutions to help brands and consumers track and measure carbon footprint. Doconomy's service, DO, a mobile banking app, manages savings and promotes sustainable consumption. Doconomy is already collaborating with Mastercard to make The Aland Index impact calculations in DO available as a service to any bank that wants to engage users and influence them to behave positively. The index is currently active in the market with banks in the U.S., Italy, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Norway.

Through Doconomy’s collaboration with the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat (UNFCCC), we are developing an innovative ecosystem to educate and engage individuals around climate action.
