Doconomy enters Latin America - partners with Mexican fintech pioneer Kapital

Stockholm /Mexico City November 16th 2021:

Doconomytoday enters the Latin American market by partnering with Mexican Kapitalbringing Åland Index impact calculations from consumption to the fintech’s clients. Kapital is the first financial institution in Mexico focused on decarbonizing consumption and through the Doconomy partnership the first to offer impact calculations from every transaction.

“To join hands with Kapital and put the first Doconomy pin on the Latin American map is a huge success. Step by step more and more dots are connected and the network of committed, brave and ambitious banks, corporations and brands are growing. As two early movers in this field we together with Kapital are sharing, not only goals, but also the aim to bring reliable and easy to use tools to create awareness and enable climate action to the Mexican people”, Doconomy CEO Mathias Wikström said.

Kapital will develop and launch a financial platform for SMBs and their employees giving each user a visualization of the emissions from each transaction and offer the option to round up of their purchases to save on the planet account – assets that can be spent in a green marketplace.

“With the intelligent solutions provided by Doconomy we are able to take a giant leap in our mission to provide our clients with tools to enable a more sustainable lifestyle. To us this is really important as climate change already affects the people of Mexico and we want to show our clients and all fellow Mexicans that there are ways to initiate the transitions needed”, Kapital founder René Saúl said.

The Doconomy/Kapital partnership origins from being partners to CC35 (Capital Cities of the Americas facing Climate Change Secretariat), a non-profit, non-partisan organization aiming to align 35 capital cities in Latin America with the Paris Agreement.
