The Insider's Guide to the Eurovision Week in Malmö
You may be starting to get a feel for Malmö's various hubs during Eurovision Week, May 4-11, by now. From the Eurovision Village in Folkets Park and Eurovision Street/Friisgatan to the parties at Malmö Live and – of course – Malmö Arena. But there are lots of fun and unexpected things going on elsewhere in the 'Eurovision bubble' as well, day and night, with a thousand chances to get involved and hang out with locals!
A selection of highlights:
EMPORIA SHOPPING CENTRE IN HYLLIE
At Emporia, one of Scandinavia's main shopping centres, opposite Malmö Arena, there will be exclusive offers and events (meet & greet with ESC artists May 3-12, wheel of fortune, Panduro's Glam Station...) but also Eurovision's only official merchandising shop.
EUROVISION AT LEAP INDOOR SKYDIVING & PADEL CENTRE
Leap in Hyllie, close to Malmö Arena, arranges a glittery after work with Eurovision karaoke on May 8, a free of charge air show in the wind tunnel every day, final screening at Restaurant Pascal on May 11 with Eurovision bingo (based on the evening's show!) and great prizes.
BIG AFTER WORK + EUROVISION NIGHT AT SLAGTHUSET
Good food, good talk and a lot of great music… at Slagthuset on May 8. On stage, there will be a really good showband and DJ Sticky Bomb will get the dance floor boiling with all the best stuff from Eurovision. Age limit: 18 years.
EURO FAN CAFÉ POWERED BY EUROGLAM
The Euro Fan Café base camp is powered by EuroGlam at Amiralen in the Eurovision Village, Folkets Park. EuroGlam itself is an outdoor venue open from 12pm to 10pm on May 4-11, with entertainment and a stunning view of the Eurovision Village stage. Indoors in the evenings, its programme includes live broadcasts of the ESC, pre- and after-parties and dinner shows with drag, karaoke and dancing.
“THEATRE DISCO” AT MALMÖ STADSTEATER
Insta moments guaranteed! May 6-8 at noon, Malmö Stadsteater pulls out the glitziest disco clothes from the costume store and runs a free Eurovision themed “theatre disco event” in its courtyard.
LARS WALLIN FASHION STORIES AT MALMÖ MUSEUM
Almost 100 of the star designer's couture creations are on display at Malmö Museum, including those worn in the Eurovision Song Contest. Take the opportunity to dance the night away in the Silent Disco corner.
LOREEN PHOTOGRAPHED BY JOHAN LINDEBERG
Edgy Falsterbo Photo Art Museum presents “Inspiring Women Beyond Borders”: a series of photos of Eurovision winner Loreen (2012, 2023) by designer and photographer Johan Lindeberg.
FABULOUS GLITTER PARTY AT FUNNYS ÄVENTYR
On May 8-11, playful Funnys Äventyr (Funny’s Adventures) will be loading up with Eurovision crafts, a festive “fika” and a glitter disco together with Alfie Atkins, Pettson, Moomin and the house's other inhabitants.
GLAM & GLITTER AT THE KRONPRINSEN SHOPPING CENTRE
On May 8, 10 and 11, the Kronprinsen Shopping Centre will be hosting a party with everything from a glittery after work with karaoke and DJ to dance shows, a glam photo station, karaoke rooms, choirs and artists.
