Auto Zeitung: Best 4x4 tyre comes from Continental

Hanover, 11 June 2010. The ContiCrossContact UHP took top marks for driving performance in the most recent test of tyres by Auto Zeitung (13/10 issue). In the final tally, the Continental product stood a commanding 30 points ahead of the closest competitor (Continental: 324 points, runner-up: 294 points). Secure handling characteristics in both off-road and wet conditions were key factors in the first place finish. When tested on dry streets, the tyre impressed the editors with good braking performance and forgiving handling. In the experts' own words: "The ContiCrossContact UHP has once again put its focus on safety and wins the tyre test".
The editorial team tested a total of eight tyre models in the 255/55 R 18 size class. These are used on popular SUVs like the Audi Q7, BMW X5, Jeep Cherokee, Kia Sorento, Mercedes R/ML/G, Mitsubishi Pajero, Porsche Cayenne, Range Rover Sport, Volvo XC 90 and VW Touareg. Both European and Asian models were included in the analysis. A BMW X5 served as the test vehicle. The ContiCrossContact UHP also took home the gold in Auto Zeitung's last 4x4 tyre test (09/09 issue).
