The Children’s Climate Prize welcomes nominations for 2022

The search for young people who make extraordinary efforts for the climate and the environment continues. The Children’s Climate Prize 2022 will be the seventh year that the prize will be awarded to entrepreneurs, innovators, changemakers and conservators around the world. Nominations will be accepted until May 15th.

Climate change is happening here and now, and the consequences of several generations of unsustainable consumption of the earth’s resources are already noticeable. In 2021, 40% of the US population is reported to have been affected by fires, floods and other climate-related crises. Sustainable solutions have to come quickly, and around the world there are lots of young people who are fighting every day for a brighter future.

The Children’s Climate Prize recognizes and supports young people aged 12-17 from all over the world, who take action for a better climate and environment. The nomination period for 2022 has opened, and until May 15th you can nominate yourself or be nominated by someone else at www.ccprize.org/nominates. The jury then selects this year’s finalists, along with a winner who will receive a diploma, medal and prize money of SEK 100,000 to continue developing their project.

The Children’s Climate Prize was established in 2016 by Telge Energi, and over the years, several fantastic young people and projects have been awarded for their sustainable solutions. After another record number of nominations last year, it remains to be seen which new initiatives have been taken by the young people in the world, and who will receive the Children’s Climate Prize 2022.

The Children’s Climate Prize 2022 - how it works:

  • Youth international climate award (12-17 years old)
  • Nomination Period will span from November 22, 2021 – to May 15, 2022
  • Jury meeting will take place August 2022
  • Finalists will be announced September 2022
  • Winner(s) will be announced November 2022
  • Award ceremony will take place in November 2022

The Children’s Climate Prize is an international prize annually awarded to young people who have made extraordinary efforts for the climate and environment. The award and financial support are managed by the Children’s Climate Foundation, which was initiated by the award’s founder Telge Energi. Based on Telge Energi’s belief in young people’s ability to drive change in the world, the award is now a part of their ongoing work for sustainable development and production of renewable energy in Sweden. The winners of the prize are celebrated at an award ceremony in November each year and receive a diploma, medal and prize money of SEK 100,000 to continue developing their projects.
