Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) rekommenderas som ett ramverk för att uppfylla Caring for Climate -rapportering

Caring for Climate, ett gemensamt initiativ mellan FN: s Global Compact och FN: s miljöprogram, har rekommenderat Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) som rapporteringssystem  för sina medverkande företag. Riktlinjerna för rapportering som nyligen publicerades har godkänts av omkring 400 företag i hela 65 länder. Dessa Caring for Climate-företag gör ett åtagande att årligen rapportera sina framsteg när det gäller kampen mot klimatförändringarna undertecknarna.

Georg Kell, chef för FN: s Global Compact, säger: "CDP idag står som en rigorös verktyg för att rapportera utsläppen av växthusgaser och klimatstrategier på årsbasis. The reporting guidance outlines disclosure-related responsibilities for signatory companies, including the use of existing reporting frameworks to meet the annual reporting requirements of the initiative. Companies that are publicly disclosing their climate change strategies and carbon emissions through CDP automatically meet the Caring for Climate reporting requirements and need only refer to their most recent CDP response to be in full compliance.
