Årets mottagare av Litteraturpriset till Astrid Lindgrens minne, författaren Meg Rosoff gästar årets bokmässa i Göteborg.
Meg Rosoff tonight received the Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award from Swedish Minister for Culture and Democracy Mrs. Alice Bah Kuhnke. In her acceptance speech she expressed both praise and criticism.
Tidigare ikväll mottog Meg Rosoff Litterturpriset till Astrid Lindgrens minne. Priset överlämnades i form av ett diplom av Kultur- och demokratiminister Alice Bah Kuhnke. Rosoffs tacktal innehöll både ris och ros.

Author Meg Rosoff is coming to Sweden to receive the 2016 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA). The Award Week begins May 23 and ends with the award ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall on May 30.
Författaren Meg Rosoff kommer till Sverige för att motta Litteraturpriset till Astrid Lindgrens minne 2016. Pristagarveckan inleds den 23 maj och avslutas med prisutdelningen i Stockholms Konserthus den 30 maj.
Author Meg Rosoff was born in in Boston, United States in 1956. She has lived and worked in London for many years. The jury’s citation reads:

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award was created in 2002 by the Swedish government to promote every child’s right to great stories. This global award is given annually to a person or organisation for their outstanding contribution to children’s and young adult literature. With a prize of five million Swedish kronor, it is the largest award of its kind. Administrated by the Swedish Arts Council.
