ARE Group’s CEO is changing

ARE’s CEO is changing. Current ARE Oy’s CEO Jarno Hacklin steps down to pursue new opportunities outside the company. Jarno Hacklin has decided to step down from his position and pursue new challenges outside the company. Hacklin will relinquish his role as CEO on August 12, 2024. Board member Hannu Keinänen will temporarily assume the role of CEO while continuing his duties as a board member. The board has initiated the search process for a new CEO.

Jarno Hacklin has been leading ARE since 2021. He will remain available to the company in a special capacity until early November.

“On behalf of the entire board, I want to thank Jarno Hacklin for his tenure as CEO. Under his leadership, ARE has made significant strides in updating its strategy and organizational structure. ARE is a stable and strong company and a leader in its industry by many measures. I wish Jarno all the best in his next role,” says Board Chair Maarit Toivanen.

“My tenure as CEO of ARE has been inspiring, rewarding, and in many ways challenging. I extend my warmest thanks to the board, the management team, and our highly committed staff in Finland and Sweden. The past three years have included many great moments, but also tougher ones, and ARE's culture has proven its strength even in a challenging operating environment. Building management is a technical field, and ARE excels at it,” states Jarno Hacklin.

“The company's operating environment has been challenging in recent years, and ARE's profitability has not been at the desired level. However, megatrends like urbanization, climate change, and digitalization support long-term business growth. In recent years, ARE has made promising progress, particularly in offering solutions that improve energy efficiency. The implementation of the strategy and ensuring operational efficiency will be key priorities for the new CEO,” says Hannu Keinänen.

Hannu Keinänen, who will temporarily assume the role of CEO, has extensive and international leadership experience. He has held business leadership positions in the electrical and energy sectors (ABB and Ensto) as well as in electronics manufacturing (Elcoteq and Enics). Keinänen has been a member of the boards of ARE and its owner Conficap since 2023.
