Lights in Alingsås awarded a prize in a prestigious lighting design competition

Lights in Alingsås came in an honorable second place in the prestigious lighting design competition (d)arc awards in the Event category last week.
The gala, which was to be held in December 2020, was postponed for a few months and finally broadcasted digitally from London. The (d)arc awards is the only peer-to-peer international lighting awards.

This year, 16 entries were nominated in the Event category.
The category includes temporary events or temporary collection of installations where the main means of expression is light (for example, light festivals, workshops, or other light design events).

Only established lighting designers and lighting artists may vote for the contributions and you may not vote for your own or your company's contribution.

The last time the competition took place (December 2019), Lights in Alingsås participated and competed in the same category and came in third place.

“There was a lot of competition this year and many major events that we competed against. We are very proud and happy to end up in second place! It shows that we are an event to be reckoned with ", says Maria Björsson, Project Manager, Lights in Alingsås.

“It is a great honor that so many in the industry have chosen to vote for Lights in Alingsås. It means a lot to us and gives extra energy for future events ", says Camilla Boström, Event Manager, Lights in Alingsås.

The organizer of (d)arc awards is the international magazine arc magazine, which is one of the world's most read and respected lighting design publications.

Each year designers and companies in the lighting design community can compete in the following categories: Structure, Places, Spaces, Art, Event and Kit.

The first prize winner was the Acropolis Lights Launch Event (2020), Greece and the third prize winner was Lumiere (2019), UK. You can read more about all competing entries here.
