Sagaform takes the next step in sustainability with Billi
With its picnic series Billi, made of 100% recycled plastic, Sagaform takes the next step in its sustainability work. Sagaforms vision is clear; where it is possible, traditional materials should be replaced with more sustainable alternatives. The Billi series is a clear example of Sagaforms commitment to long-term environmental work.
The interior design industry, like many other industries, is forced to make more and more conscious environmental and sustainability choices. Sagaform strives to be at the forefront and has gradually replaced more and more traditional materials with recycled and environmentally adapted alternatives in recent years.
"For example, we have replaced the cotton in our Hamam towel series with completely recycled cotton. Our new Billi picnic series is made entirely of recycled plastic and our picnic bags in the City series are partly made of rPET," explains Sara Wernerby, Marketing Manager at Sagaform AB.
Sagaform has been working on the Billi series for several years, with the goal of demonstrating that outdoor products can be sustainable, functional, and well-designed. Although Sagaform makes environmentally conscious decisions throughout its product line, it has chosen to focus specifically on outdoor products, as these often lack a combination of eco-friendly materials and good design."
”The Billi series is made entirely of recycled plastic, rPET, which is collected from used plastic bottles and the sea. The plastic is then crushed, melted, and molded into Sagaform's unique designs to create the Billi products, explains Beatrice Lindgren.
“We have searched the market and believe that Billi is something new and unique, we have not been able to find a plastic champagne cup made entirely of recycled material anywhere else, continues Beatrice.”
The Billi series contains glasses in different models, bowls, wine cooler/ice bucket and a carafe for water or wine. Billi is available for purchase at www.sagaform.com and from selected retailers from April.
