New picnic series in 100% recycled plastic – meet Billi from Sagaform!
The picnic series Billi is not only a new addition to outdoor life but also a revolution within it. Made from 100% recycled plastic and in a sleek, unisex design, Sagaform can proudly say that Billi is one of a kind. Additionally, the series is carefully developed with a focus on user-friendliness – the experience of drinking and holding the glasses is both luxurious and practical. Billi is a new Swedish original, a series for an active outdoor lifestyle and for all the moments we gather outdoors.
The work on Billi has been ongoing for several years, and the goal was clear – to launch a picnic series that didn't exist in the market. As the series is now launched, it meets all the requirements for a sustainable and stylish outdoor life.
– We at Sagaform love outdoor life and excel in the field. Our previous picnic series, Juni, is a favorite for many, but now we want to create an alternative that appeals to a different type of customer. 100% recycled material, rPET, was a natural choice from the beginning, and we also wanted to develop a design language that is more unisex. Billi also brings design elements from our beautiful glass series, Saga, creating both recognition and completeness. We believe and hope that Billi will become the obvious choice for the future of outdoor life, caravan vacations, boating, and for all moments worth celebrating a little extra, says Beatrice Lindgren, Design and Concept Manager at Sagaform AB.
The Billi series includes glasses in various models, bowls, wine cooler/ice bucket, and a carafe for water or wine. The glasses feel luxurious with rounded, generous bowls, and the wine, beer, and cocktail glasses, as well as the champagne coupe, come with a low foot. All parts of the series are adorned with Sagaform's classical stripe that reflects light – from a distance, the tableware appears to be made entirely of glass. The edge of the Billi glasses is thin and rounded, all to provide a delightful drinking experience. Additionally, all parts are stackable for easy storage.
The material in Billi consists entirely of recycled plastic, rPET. Used and collected PET plastic from used plastic bottles are crushed and melted to create new plastic material. The plastic mass is then placed in Sagaform's custom-designed mold, creating a unique Billi product. Products made entirely of recycled material can withstand heat up to 50 degrees Celsius. This means that Billi should be hand washed and preferably filled with cold drinks.
– We have scanned the entire market and feel that with Billi, we present something new and unique. In addition to being made entirely of recycled material, we couldn't find a plastic champagne coupe anywhere. We love both the stripe and the low foot extra much – they allow the glasses to retain their luxury but stand firmly on, for example, rocks without tipping over, says Beatrice Lindgren.
Billi will be available for purchase at selected retailers and on sagaform.com from mid-March.
