UAE Demonstrates Double Digit Quarterly and Yearly Growth in Product Sales for QNET

The first quarter of 2013 also showed QNET product sales transactions averaging approximately 10,000 per month in the Middle East and North Africa as a whole, while the monthly average increased to 11,200 per month during the second quarter.

“The region currently contributes to approximately 48 per cent of our global sales,” said Khaled Diab, Regional General Manager of QNET. “We offer a myriad of products that aim to enhance and enrich the lives of our customers, and these vary from physical products like wellness supplements to virtual services such as vacation packages and e-learning courses.“

Other markets in the region showed significant quarter-on-quarter increases in product sales with Oman ranking first with 42 per cent, followed by Qatar at 30 per cent, then the UAE and finally Saudi at 15 per cent. Outside of the GCC, product sales in Syria, Morocco and Algeria rose 78 per cent, 35 per cent and 14 per cent, respectively.

The top selling products shipped from the logistics hub from Mussafah in Abu Dhabi, UAE, include QNET’s Swiss watch brand Bernhard H Mayer and the HomePure water filtration system.

Diab explained that QNET’s HomePure addresses a real need for clean water in the region.

“In many Arab countries, there are instances of drinking water scarcity, especially in the summer. Many health problems such as vomiting, diarrhoea and kidney failure are caused by polluted drinking water. Contamination of waterways by industrial and agricultural pollutants is also a serious concern,” he said. “That's why we believe HomePure has  been doing remarkably well not just in UAE but in the MENA region as a whole.”
