The solar conference will take place on 16 April 2024 at the Clarion Hotel Oslo.
This year's theme is financing and profitability in the green shift. It will focus on how large-scale solar power development will be financed in the future. How should the authorities arrange for private capital to be unleashed and what do the profitable business models look like for faster scaling? How much focus should we have in Norway and how to increase the pace of climate finance and restructuring outside Norway?
In Norway alone, there is talk of tens of billions of NOK to be invested to expand solar power on buildings and ground throughout the country. It is believed that the most forward-looking municipalities will re-regulate and prepare to acquire expertise and capital for the village.
Internationally, major investments must go from fossil fuels to renewables, and Norway should take a clearer role. COP clearly showed the change it's going through in a relatively short time, and it has Norwegian project developers who work internationally and who can show the way, and the projects can be scaled up.
It will bring together representatives from the industry and high-level decision-makers to discuss the major strategic political and market-related steps needed to make Norway ready for large-scale solar power development.
