Press release -

Nysnø becomes new owners of Norwegian mobility tech company

Stavanger 30.6.2021 – The Norwegian car subscription platform imove recently closed a Series-A financing round with €16 million from new and existing investors. Nysnø Climate Investments are new owners together with Europe’s largest online car marketplace, AutoScout24, amongst others.

Imove is a Norwegian mobility company offering flexible subscription solutions for electric vehicles. The company currently operates a fleet of over a thousand electric cars and is already well established in Norway and Sweden. Imove plans to use the fresh capital to grow the platform's presence in the Nordic region and expand globally.

- With a monthly growth rate of 20%, imove has been moving at supersonic speed. Amazing customer feedback, strong unit economics, and an industry ripe for change told us that the timing was right for pushing the ‘Scale button’. We are extremely excited to bring on investors that bring the right type of strategic capabilities, know-how, and global reach. As the imove name inclines, we need to move. Therefore, we have spent a lot of time finding the right chemistry between the new investors and the company. We can’t wait to unleash the power of the new team, says Hans Kristian Aas, co-founder og CEO of imove.

Replacing fossil fuels with electricity is a crucial technological shift to reach the climate goals. Electric passenger cars and access to these plays a key role. With its flexible electric car subscriptions, imove contributes to making it easier to drive electric.

- The mobility sector is facing major and exciting changes going forward in the need of finding cleaner solutions and adapting to new business models. We invest in imove to meet these challenges, and we are confident that their competent team will deliver future-fit and profitable solutions, says John Egil Johannessen, Investment Manager at Nysnø.

Nysnø Climate Investments participated in the Series-A round together with Norwegian venture fund Norselab and AutoScout24 – Europe's largest marketplace for cars and the largest player in 18 European countries. The platform will serve as a distribution channel for imove's electric car subscription, thereby making it possible to offer the Norwegian electric car experience to users in some of the largest car markets in Europe.

It is a great opportunity to have both Norselab and Autoscout24 as strategic co-investors to help imove grow in new markets, Johannessen adds.

In addition to Nysnø Climate Investments, Norselab and Autoscout24, existing owner Hedin Automotive also participated in the financing round.
