ALLPLAN and A+S Consult announce Technological Partnership
Munich, March 16 2023 - ALLPLAN, global provider of BIM solutions for the AEC industry, has entered into a technological partnership with A+S Consult, the German pioneer for the creation of parametric professional models and the application of BIM in infrastructure construction. The aim is to develop an integrated digital workflow for parametric transportation infrastructure for roads and rail.
Both companies share the goal of modeling complex engineering structures parametrically in order to be able to make changes in minutes instead of weeks as was previously the case - a revolution in the design process: Due to the small amount of time required for changes and the creation of variants, a bridge design can be optimized in a time-saving manner.
"Integrated parametric workflows are a game-changer in transportation infrastructure - especially with regard to the growing demands on productivity of design teams as well as material efficiency and sustainability of structures. The technological partnership with A+S Consult enables meaningful synergy effects and serves the increasing demand for highly efficient solutions for infrastructure construction," says Dr. Detlef Schneider, CEO of ALLPLAN.
Two platforms, one holistic design portfolio
With the 5D platform KorFin®, A+S Consult offers a solution for the design of road, rail, powerline and cable infrastructure. Design teams benefit from a real-time environment for generating dynamic, spatial overall models for existing structures, design, construction and coordination of the specialist trades. Thanks to an automated design approach, KorFin® supports the preliminary design of engineering structures.
Allplan is the solution for parametric BIM-based design of roads and bridges. In combination with tools for interdisciplinary collaboration and variant creation as well as the precise generation of design documents for the construction site, Allplan supports the successful implementation of road and rail projects, among others at the Autobahn GmbH of the German Federal Government and Deutsche Bahn.
The integration of the two platforms creates a holistic design portfolio that covers all work processes in traffic route design from route identification to detailed design based on parametric modeling technology. Dr. Veit Appelt, CEO of A+S Consult: "Infrastructure projects such as roads and railway lines are envisaged together in a dynamic digital twin from the environment to the digital engineering structure and are technically within reach. At the end of the day, it's about moving away from conventional design to parametric real-time designs in a team of specialist planners within a common overall model. This opens the door for us to move into AI applications."
First demo presentation at congress in Radebeul near Dresden
ALLPLAN will present its range of solutions at the "BIM in Infrastructure - Transport and Energy 2023" congress from March 22 to 23 in Dresden. Together with A+S Consult, a demo of the parametric workflow for infrastructure construction will be on display.
