2 million Malaysian Jobseekers are now with JobStreet.com

Kuala Lumpur, 29 March, 2013 – JobStreet.com, the number one job site in Malaysia, recently announced their milestone of reaching their two millionth Malaysian jobseeker member. The announcement was made at JobStreet.com’s 15th Malaysia Career and Training Fair (MCTF), launched by Tuan Haji Mohd Asri bin Abdul Wahab, Director of Jobs Services Division (JobsMalaysia Center), Ministry of Human Resources. 

At the opening ceremony, JobStreet.com awarded its 2 millionth member, Cik Nurfarhana bt Ahmad Zainodin, with a Graduate Preparedness Programme sponsored by Sunway University. She was also presented  with a HTC Butterfly smartphone and an iPad with Retina Display, both bundled with DG SmartPlan and DiGi iPad plan to equip her for work.

From JobStreet.com’s Job Satisfaction Survey, 62% of jobseekers have indicated they would like to switch jobs if the opportunity arises. Seasonal job posting patterns will likely see hiring peak between March and October.

Ms. Chook added, " We will see many job opportunities available in a variety of fields. In particular, employers will be looking out for jobseekers in the fields of accounting, business processes (sales and marketing) and those with technical skillsets such as manufacturing, ICT, engineering and civil/construction maintenance. "

This year’s MCTF received an impressive participation of over 160 top companies offering thousands of quality jobs. Some of these companies include AIG, Nestlé Products Sdn. Bhd, Petroliam National Berhad, DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd, Philip Morris (M) Sdn Bhd, Genting Group, Murphy Sarawak Oil, Kraft Malaysia Sdn Bhd, British American Tobacco, Country Garden Properties (M) Sdn Bhd, and RHB Banking Group.

Mr. William Ng, Managing Director of AIC Exhibitions Sdn Bhd, the organizers of the MCTF fair said, “This year’s overwhelming response by employers is a clear indication of our country’s vibrant economic growth. We are indeed moving towards the right direction in line with the Economic Transformation Programme”.

Jobseekers attending the fair will be presented with jobs ranging from fresh graduate positions all the way to senior level jobs. At the fair, jobseekers will also have the chance to get their resumes checked at the JobStreet.com resume clinic, grab on-the-spot-interviews and get hiring evaluations from the employers.

The 15th JobStreet.com MCTF will be held from today until this Sunday, 31 March 2013, at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre.
