TIMBA – uncompromisingly sustainable

LTS meets wood:
New luminaire family developed from renewable raw material

For the first time, timber is given exclusive priority in the consistently ecologically based production of sustainable LTS track-mounted spotlights and pendant luminaires. With a natural and minimalist design, LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH chose uncompromising sustainability for the production of Timba luminaires. Moreover, all luminaires from the Timba family are eligible for funding through the Federal Grant Programme for Efficient Buildings.

“The new, sustainable Timba Spot made from regional and untreated ash wood is a clear sign that LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH as part of the Fagerhult Group is seriously pushing ahead with its sustainability strategy. We are very proud that we were able to also convince the jury with Timba, our product innovation that follows our sustainability concept. Thinking about tomorrow today!

That is Timba's guiding principle. Currently, all efforts are focused on improving energy efficiency in the lighting industry. In the future, more focus must be placed on the luminaire and its components. With the new Timba luminaire family, LTS wants to draw attention to precisely this aspect.

As a company, the Upper Swabian luminaire manufacturer wants to "think about tomorrow today" and also give all customers this thought with every purchase decision. The innovative product structure of the Timba, the pure materiality and the timeless design ensure the sustainability of the Timba luminaires. Because the longevity of all LTS products is the simplest and most sustainable way to conserve resources.

as a sustainability trendsetter

Timba Linear

The linear light of the Timba Linear pendant luminaire is harmonically integrated into the wooden body. The minimum aluminium cooling profile is hidden in the wood. The light line is one metre long and an eyecatcher with its natural wood appearance and premium light inserts. The variable ceiling distance of Timba Linear allows its use in all room heights and conditions. Its opal attached diffusor, which provides uniform light all around with an opal beam characteristic, is elegant and unpretentious. Aluminium end covers in black give the luminaire an exclusive touch. The black edges of the opal cover complete the elegant design and enhance the non-glare characteristics of the luminaire. Stylish grooves on the top side lighten up the look and feel of the design. Particularly in counter or checkout areas, the natural-looking linear light particularly comes into its own.

Timba Round

The Timba Round pendant luminaire features a wooden cylinder with recessed lighting technology and lens optics. It is an exclusively direct luminaire with a round body made of smooth, untreated timber. Timba Round is available with three beam angles (Spot 25°, Middle Flood 35°, Flood 60°). It is unpretentious, yet powerful and the perfect choice both as an elegant pendant luminaire in counter and checkout areas and in the hospitality area for tables, the bar or kitchen islands.

State-of-the-art lighting technology
and maximum sustainability

“We, the LTS team, love light and continuously research innovative lighting ideas to combine technology and sustainability. We have used a remarkable approach in product design to combine alternative raw materials and state-of-the-art LED technology. To make sure that you, your clients and future generations will be able to enjoy our luminaires for a long time!”
- Stefan Hertle, Product Manager LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH

We only use regional and untreated ash wood from sustainable forestry for the new wooden LTS Timba luminaire. It’s the first time that LTS has been working with timber, combining state-of-the-art lighting technology with maximum sustainability to produce this professional retail spotlight with a modern, elegant and natural design. The wooden body, which is glued without harmful substances, and the innovative luminaire structure reduce the number of components to a minimum. Thanks to the few installed parts, hardly any bolts are needed during assembly. This saves material and time. Using natural materials also saves resources which is beneficial to the environment.

LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH also puts a sustainability focus on the reduction of energy-intensive metals. The result is impressive: Compared to conventional track-mounted spotlights, this innovative luminaire requires 70 percent less aluminium. In addition, short timber supply chains pay into the LTS sustainability strategy.

All LTS luminaires have been designed to last. Their timeless design means that LTS products are still modern after many years and can be retrofitted with respective state-of-the-art lighting technology. LTS aims at keeping the value of all products, parts and materials at a high level so that they can be remanufactured and reused. And should the life cycle of an LTS Timba luminaire really come to an end, it is easy to recycle the product thanks to the few homogeneous materials and return the individual components to the resource cycle.

Timba makes a strong statement about one’s interest in nature and the environment and shows that the ecological footprint for LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH is important. It enables customers to create their own visible sustainable identity and minimize their carbon footprint.

Lively light
In a wooden corpus

"Thinking about making the production networks more local, we put our track spotlight product to the test and completely rethought it, right down to the materials. Suddenly it seemed possible to create a spotlight that was largely locally sourced. The new design of the reflector allowed us to combine the desired function (light control) and the technical necessity (cooling) while creating an expressive design."
- Ewald Steinel, Head of Innovation and Development, LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH

When developing the Timba family, the R&D department of LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH looked for the simplicity which makes light appear modern. The result is the timeless entity formed by wood and light. The wooden design of the new Timba luminaires offers excellent room quality paired with a natural look and feel. The premium LTS quality is as important as the ecologically based production of the innovative luminaires.

Forward-looking illumination concepts can now pursue one consistent style with considerable freedom in planning. All Timba variants are identical in their look and feel and combine wood and light which leads to an interior design element with a lively and natural appearance.

We, the LTS team, create light to enrich, inspire and connect people.
We are already thinking about tomorrow today!
