Renovation light at lightning speed!

From fluorescent lamp to LED

Within just four weeks, the luminaire manufacturer LTS from Tettnang renovated the office lighting on the premises of Dosenbach-Ochsner AG in Switzerland. LTS was contracted to update approximately 270 floor lamps, which have reliably lit the Dosenbach-Ochsner offices for many years, with state-of-the-art LED lights. LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH gladly accepted the challenge. Dosenbach-Ochsner AG requested to reuse as many floor lamps as possible and replace only the required components and elements. This is an efficient way to save resources, because it allows to continue to use the lamp base and only install a new light head. Dosenbach-Ochsner AG was keen to act sustainably and still use modern, electricity-saving technology to contribute to avoiding the risk of power shortage.

The LTS engineering department developed a new light head based on the standard LK 060 profile for the existing floor lamps. In terms of sustainability, efficiency and the latest illumination technology, the result speaks for itself. All luminaires were upgraded by retrofitting them with the intelligent Organic Response control system. The sensor-controlled adjustment of the luminaires to the actual use case unlocks large savings potential because it can reduce the illumination time, prevent energy waste and lower energy costs for Dosenbach-Ochsner AG in the long term. The used technology is state-of-the-art, just like new, costs less and saves electrical waste. This makes refurbishing extremely environmentally friendly without having to dispense with the tried and tested LTS quality.

LTS, the luminaire manufacturer, was able to realize this project in such a short time because the company produces exclusively in the South of Germany. Thanks to the short distances and the competence centre on site, product developers and light planners came up with a faster and financially more attractive solution than completely new luminaires.

Sustainability
for premium durability

The result is an office floor lamp with state-of-the-art technology. The office luminaire offers a direct/indirect system, has a very good UGR (>19), is equipped with Glare Control and the latest Batwing film. All luminaires are now controllable via Organic Response. This means customers only pay for the light which is actually used. Organic Response and the latest LED technology help to considerably reduce energy consumption.

The almost tool-free installation guaranteed a smooth and fast exchange of the old light heads, which were partially still equipped with T5 fluorescent lamps. Since only the light heads had to be replaced, it was possible to save valuable refurbishing time, the work caused less dirt and produced hardly any electrical waste. Another plus was that the staff of Dosenbach-Ochsner AG were able to replace the light heads themselves. All in all a worthy cause for the environment and an important contribution to resource conservation.

Today, all office floor lamps are equipped with the LTS Lichtkanal 060 light head that was specifically modified for Dosenbach-Ochsner AG.
