Timba Spot – uncompromisingly sustainable

The award-winning track-mounted luminaire, Timba Spot, features a square wooden body with a trumpet-shaped reflector. The luminaire manufacturer LTS scores with a fantastic product innovation that uses the reflector as a heat sink. This visually striking component is not only an eyecatcher but also combines precise light control with state-of-the-art cooling technology. Compared to conventional track-mounted spotlights, this innovative luminaire requires 70 percent less aluminium. With an efficiency of more than 120 lumen and a CRI greater than 90, Timba Spot fulfils all requirements of professional and innovative retail illumination. Decentralised points of light can be created with this premium wooden LTS spotlight with lively ash wood upgrading the accentuated areas. The wooden cuboid features subtle-cut grooves on one side which makes the spot appear graceful overall. Timba is the perfect choice to highlight striking architectural features or displayed products. The spotlight made of untreated wood conveys a clear architectural message and gives the entire ensemble a sustainable and natural appearance.

The track-mounted Timba Spot luminaire, which is exclusively made in Germany, convinced the jury which honoured the product innovation with a Gold award:

“The untreated ash wood body of the LTS Timba spotlight is catching. It perfectly embodies the company’s sustainability claim and also gives the spotlight a unique identity. The spotlight has been designed with a clear and coherent focus on form and function, paying attention to the smallest detail. It excels with state-of-the-art lighting technology. The designers of Timba deliberately did without aluminium which makes the product extraordinary from an aesthetic point of view and an eyecatcher in many interior settings. In terms of sustainability and the corresponding user aspirations in this context, the spotlight makes a confident statement in favour of a liveable future.

Thinking about tomorrow

That’s Timba’s guiding principle. The lighting industry is focusing entirely on improving energy efficiency. In the future, the spotlight and its components will have to move more to the centre of attention. With Timba, LTS has started directing attention to precisely this aspect. The luminaire manufacturer from Upper Swabia is already thinking about tomorrow and wants customers to do the same with every purchasing decision they make. The innovative product structure of the Timba family, the pure materials and the timeless design ensure that Timba will last for a long time. The longevity of LTS products is the simplest and most sustainable way of saving resources.

Lively light

When developing the Timba family, the R&D department of LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH looked for the simplicity which makes light appear modern. The result is the timeless entity formed by wood and light. The wooden design of the new Timba luminaires offers excellent room quality paired with a natural look and feel.

The premium LTS quality is as important as the ecologically based production of the innovative luminaires, says LTS Managing Director, Sofie Dahlberg.

“The new, sustainable Timba Spot made from regional and untreated ash wood is a clear sign that LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH as part of the Fagerhult Group is seriously pushing ahead with its sustainability strategy. We are very proud that we were able to also convince the jury with Timba, our product innovation that follows our sustainability concept. In the retail luminaire market, the award-winning wooden luminaire is unique and innovative. Timba allows our customers to make a visible statement in favour of sustainability.
— Sofie Dahlberg, Managing Director, LTS Licht & Leuchten GmbH

What LTS product developers and designers have come up with is a completely new luminaire family made of untreated wood. It consists of the award-winning Timba Spot, a round pendant luminaire called Timba Round and a suspended linear luminaire called Timba Linear. Each individual luminaire body of the wooden series is a purely natural product. The pleasant scent of ash wood also reminds of nature and appeals to all senses as part of the holistic room concept. With the Timba family, LTS gives customers the opportunity to opt for an efficient and high-end LTS premium luminaire with a reduced carbon footprint.
